Safety Tips for Travel Dancing

Travel dancing can pay well and still go wrong fast if you treat a new city like a movie. You are the business. Protect the asset.

Before you go, tell one trusted person the city, the club, the hotel, and your return date. Share live location with that person only. Check in when you land, when you get to the room, and when you leave at night. A check-in habit is not paranoia. It is a trail.

Book your own room in your own name when you can. Do not stay where someone else controls the door. Use a hotel with staff, cameras in common areas, and a door that locks properly. Do not advertise your room number. Do not let strangers walk you all the way to the door.

Control your transport. Prefer known ride services over random cars. Sit in the back. Confirm the plate before you get in. Do not get into a customer’s car. Do not accept a “quick stop” that was not the plan.

Keep work and real life separated on the road. Use a work phone or locked apps if you need to. Do not post your exact hotel, flight, or “just landed” in real time. Post after you have left if you post at all.

In the club, learn the exits, the staff you can trust, and the house rules on the first night. Stay sober enough to notice changes in a room. Watch drinks. Watch bags. Watch who is too interested in where you are staying.

Carry only what you need for the night. Keep backup cash and ID separate from the bag you take to the floor. Have enough money to leave a bad situation without waiting on anyone.

If a booking, a manager, or a “friend who knows a club” feels off, you can walk. Money that requires you to be isolated, unpaid, or controlled is not an opportunity. It is a trap with a smile.

Travel smart is not fear. It is how girls keep the bag and the body in the same piece.
